I bought this as a refurb from Apple for roughly $730. They are about $1,000 new.
As far as the software, I don't know what all is on the ILife CD's that came with it as I never used them. I don't know about MS Internet Explorer and I know Office didn't come--to the very best of my knowledge--unless again, it's on the CD's. They have Text Edit which is just as good of a word processor in my opinion. All I can say, is that I'll ship what Cd's I got and let me make it clear from the beginning that I pulled these software specs from the Apple site--the only thing I'm not sure on is some of the Software and the supposedly included modem cable. Everything else I can and will attest to. I do remember chess being on there, though, and Safari--which I liked a lot--and Text Edit ETC ETC.
The macintosh IBook laptop... I bought it in October of 2006--as a refurb from Apple for roughly $730. It has the Voice Over screenreader which is great for blind people and especially those who like Macintosh. I had no problems with the learning curve. I found Voice Over easy to learn and use and enjoyed the needed change from Jaws.
It is as it was when I purchased it except part of the LCD screen is cracked--it is something within the screen itself--I can't explainit because I don't quite understand it--not the physical appearance. Thus, on the bottom righthand corner I am told you see wavy lines but the rest of the screen is fine--and there are no noticeable outside blemishes. A totally blind person such as myself would have no problem with this screen I'm sure as the rest of the computer works fine. You can get it fixed--it would have cost me more to fix it than I paid for the computer... I saw no need to fix it though, as I wasn't using the screen and there were no outside blemishes to attest to whatever happened on the inside.
Battery life is really good on this Macintosh as well.
The great thing about the slot loading media drive is that there's no chance of it breaking off. You just kind of place the disk in and it "swallows" it--in quotes--for lack of a better word.
I am selling it because I feel like someone else might be able to get better use out of it then I am right now plus it's relatively cheap for a Mac laptop--as anyone who knows much about Macs can attest to. It's about half of what they are new...
I am asking $525 which includes shipping. My preferred payment method is PayPal though other options can certainly be discussed.
Payment plans of some sort can be negotiated if we need to do that.
If there are any questions about the computer, price, or anything else please don't hesitate to contact me with them:
